I Do (Pantoum)

Behind the whitest white of satin and lace;
The naked bride emerges.
Her crimson flesh unmasks the disgrace
Of her own womanly innate urges.

The naked bride emerges;
Fearful is she, of such emotion she is capable of.
Of her own womanly innate urges
And her once dormant desire to be loved.

Fearful is she, of such emotion she is capable of;
Stripped of the armor she once couldn’t live without.
And her once dormant desire to be loved
Extinguishes all rising doubt.

Stripped of the armor she once couldn’t live without;
His hand entwines her own.
Extinguishes all rising doubt
And her former desire to remain alone.

His hand entwines her own;
Forever as one, together a whole.
And her former desire to remain alone
Then fades as no shame lives on in her soul.

Forever as one, together a whole;
The naked bride emerges.
Then fades as no shame lives on in her soul
Of her own womanly innate urges.
