The Long Walk Home

I wait for you to meet me here
As I walk the moon-lighted path
Somehow I know you’re near
Amidst the shadows the trees overcast

Each step we walk in sync
Your footsteps echo in my head
I don’t care what the others think
How can they tell me you are dead?

Your breath audible, though slow
Your outline present, though obscure
Your voice a whisper only I would know
You’re beside me here I am sure

They can have their reality
Their rules and logic will not prevail
I believe naught in what they call impossibility
As we walk together on this trail

Through each sunset and sunrise
Every tear that falls with every strife
Love knows no goodbyes
Nor does it halt at the end of this life

My love, your face is in every constellation
Your voice a melody calling me home
You remain existent in every astonishing creation
Never absent and never alone

yea, felt like being romantic for once...
