Blame It On Yourself

It must be hard to sleep at night
After doing what you’ve done
Having all that fun
Pretend it wasn’t you at all
And manipulate everyone

It must be hard to live knowing
You lost something amazing
You threw it away for nothing
Stop feeling so sorry for yourself
Awaiting some apology

It’s no one else’s fault
That you choose this life
That you hurt your wife
Start pointing those fingers at yourself
Because you won’t win this fight

You had everything
Was it worth the trade?
This is the bed you made
So toss and turn alone
While all traces of you here fade

And blame it on yourself
You’re too much of a coward to see the truth
Afraid to see the real you
You remember things so conveniently
Everyone else is responsible for what you do

Idol threats and fake remorse
You have nothing left
Tell me do you regret
Leaving behind the family you assumed
Would be so easy to forget

You toss around these accusations
Try so hard to place the blame
Escape from your own shame
But the fact is, you choose this
And that will never change

For my "father"
