Drip by drip
The floor is alive
The walls are closing in
Why can’t I close my eyes?
Tick by tick
Time is frozen in this dark room
The shadows grow greater
As a cloud crawls across the moon
Flash by flash
A slideshow in my head
I’ve written my best stories
Lying awake in bed
Creak by creak
Every sound stops my heart
A cricket can create a panic
If you concentrate too hard in the dark
