The Game

You are on the move
Keeping up the pace
The sweat pouring down
You cannot see his face

You get a little closer
Looking for a trace
Just when you think you made it
He tells you, "You can't run the race."

You roar in anger
Chasing in despair
You wonder why this is
But he says, "This battle isn't fair."

You fall in defeat
He laughs as you stumble
This game makes you
"I'll never give up." you mumble

You see fire eyes
You want to reach out and feel
But then the eyes start to spin fast
As a race car wheel

Your mind is racing
Your breath is pacing
It's him you are chasing
But you don't know what you're facing

You run to it in darkness
Just when he moves slow
He kicks you hide
And you fall to the valley below

He beats you at your game
He kills you with a rover
He laughs, hollows, and bellows
As he tells you, "Game Over."
