Portrait of the Artist as a Fury

for Sheer Nisman

She stared out
windows into
the sky & infinity
etched the holy
words deep
into soft lead

quickly, as if
the sunset
would die alone.

She could not
see the Alchemist
working alongside her
squeezing glyphs into
sunset hues
replacing sky & infinity.

A cloud crept
in the
back door alone.

She kicked the
rapidly fading
sunset window hard
sending it along
with the sky &
infinity hurtling from her Paris tenement.
