Trapped

Thrashing violently in vain
limbs beating wildly against the fence
the struggle for for freedom has begun
in all of its chaos and fury
Pain is felt after every charge
against the unyielding fence
the outside is so near yet untouchable
the voices of instinct override all common sense
So easy to get in, a puzzle to escape
blood flows in a ruby stream
down tired legs as weariness takes its grip
defeat has been realized and accepted
as an anguished body sinks to the ground
