The man

Into the corners of an evening
he slinks into nothingness
not wanting to be seen nor heard
only desiring aloneness
companion only to bitterness

In welcoming darkness he is whole
fearing the light of scrutiny
He wraps himself tighter in
layers of hostility, protected
from bitter cold judgement

Grey eyes take in a grey world
where society is corrupt
and paranoia the ruling force
Steel eyes are his only defense
to an unforgiving world
