The Door

As I'm driving down the avenue.
I catch a glimpse in full front view.
Of my life as it slowly ends
with you beside me as I've always depend.

Your eyes are shut and your mouth ajar
as I look forward, I've crashed into a bar.

The car's a mess and so am I
but here I step out to survey it with an eye.

As I step out into the rain, a door displays
a human form with hand outlayed.
It looks at me with smile so sweet
that I ignored the door and stepped off towards the street.

It took me a moment to have a think,
that the door wasn't there in a blink.
And as I kept walking away,
my sad face I broadly display,
that the rain is now going through

my body.

And that I should have walked through that door to be with you.
