There once was a little girl She one night, by chance Wandered down to the park She had ran away from home again
Her mother was screaming as her father Hit her...hard. And she felt the blood On her hand and she reached The swingset, and sat down gently
So softly, feet pushing, kicking hard Harder than he ever hit her The rusted metal squeeking harder Than her mother ever screamed
And the moon cheered her on The stars said a rhyme "Go, go, go..." urged the world "You can do it, you can do it!"
And she kicked so hard that she flew... Away from that seat she went And into the sky she lifted Above the rest of the world!!
And the darkness of the night below The darkness of the world Scoffed at her as she laughed on Angel's wings...and she did fly!
Oh how she did fly! Further than her imagination Had ever let her go!! Into the heavens, out of her pain
And she smiled. |
