Rejection

He walks gently
Down the lone school halls
The boy with the
Broken home
The boy in the
Apecial classes
And he walks to her locker
And she looks at him oddly
And smiles

He smiles very softly
Not sure of what to say
And he sighs
"You know that dance?
The one on Saturday?
Are you going with anybody?"
She doesn't laugh...yet
She closes her locker and
Watched his face
So sad and alone

"Are you asking me out?"
He nods so gently
And puts his eyes to the floor
And ever so gently
He waits for her voice
To come...
And ever so gently
The laughter gets louder
And louder

And two girls now stand there
She's explained the whole thing
"HIM?" she says in disguist "The dummy?"
And three girls, four
Her little clique
Stand laughing at him
As they walk away
And he lets his head hit the locker
And he cries
