Love Affair

I'm having a love affair with the man on the screen,
Who's pretty little bride doesn't know of the thing,
At night we meet and live in the light,
Until the sun sweeps away our night.

I'm having a love affair with the man next door,
Although I have yet to figure what for.
He's handsome, in spite, and always so proper,
But that wife that he has, there's just no way to stop her.

I'm having a love affair with the postman,
Who doesn't ask questions, or whine, just like most men,
But knows how to take it, whenever I give,
I know that I'll love him as long as I live.

I'm having a love affair with myself,
Who for so long has pondered while set on the shelf,
She's dusty and old, but I love her just the same,
And she's very reliable when I call her name.

I'm having a love affair with the man I call "honey,"
Who says that whenever I giggle it's funny.
We sit and we look at the man on the screen,
And I try not to mention impulsive dreams.
