skyline

The music plays
Such a bittersweet melody
And tears slip down my cheeks
Like messengers
Carrying words of lonely nights
And many other tears
Shed for you
This heart of mine
Is black and blue.

The city lights shine through
A fog of indecision
And my feet are bare
On a chilly wooden floor
The alchohal in my hand
Burns down my throat
As I stare at the skyline
Wondering if
You'll ever be back.

Oh
I would call you know
If I knew what it was you longed to hear
But you told me
When it was time
We would know
And fate would bring us back
Into the others arms.

But now,
The tears are smoothing raw skin
And I don't want any more alchohal,
So perhaps
I'll leave this skyline
And go to a place
That doesn't scream of you.
