If I Were With You

You kissed me with a passion unlike anything here on earth,
When you told me that you would always love me you seemed so sure,
Now I sit here all alone with the candles lit,
I wish that instead it was by your side I would sit.

I miss the way you wer ethe only one who could understand,
I truly believe that you are the only man,
That i was created to love in my heart,
If only, If only, God would do his part.

We both said things that we don't really mean,
Our feelings and hearts got a little obscene,
But it doesn't make my heart ache any less,
As the holidays come I still love you best.

You always said I was too sentimental,
But you made me that way you were so tempermental,
One moment we would dance and the next we would sing,
Rememeber I cried when you gave me the ring?

I watch Romeo and Juliet with a certain envy,
At leats they died together to save the memory,
Of thier passion filled nights and love filld days,
You my dear, you just ran away.

And I sit here and my hands a little bit shaky,
As much as I need you I nkow that I'll make it,
For I'm stronger than the rose you compared me too,
But I would be an oak if I were with you.
