Lauren Poem 16

i will bring sleep
to her gentle eyes
she moves
the sheets smell of wax
and her body smells of sweet
lavendar as she moans
the nightmares so thin,
candle light pulling
my arms around her

so alluring she can be
as i watch her breathe
i steal a kiss from
her sleeping lips
and she stirs in her
fold of everything

i want to bring rest
to her troubled mind
i want to bring comfort
in this sandy, sounding sleep
she needs me tonight

she comes to me now
like an angel blessed with time
a patient hand she moves
to assure me of her presence
and she sinks below the sheets
she sinks below her needs
and holds me
