why so many walls?

have i touched the void?
felt it's inflating power
over my heart and the incessant
beating, a wish to rot free.
from such simple responses
my heart aches and tears give birth
to guilt. miniscule enimies usher
forth with grandioso armies; bearing
down upon translucent walls.
taking pins and needles to flesh
with but a hint of superiority, destined
to inflame, infect, and devour.

the walls are falling ever closer.
