This is from recent experience, apart from the line at the bottom. The inspiration came form the most embarrasing day of my life. Well, enough said, hope you like it.
Laughter is a gateway.
a porthole to another world.
You think of me as silly but
I am laughing for solitude
a chance to gat away.
to visit a place long forgotten,
with shadows of times gone by
laughter is the key to the soul
it is the only truth, the only thing that can be trusted.
I spoke to you, I laughed,
not from humour, but to hide,
hide my feeling in a place you can't reach
You smiled back, I felt better
but the laughter continues, now with you with me
I relax, then botch the one thing I have ever said to you,
back to my world of laughter, no one can reach me now
embarrasment mounting, laughter increasing,
"I've ruined my chances with him now" I thought
"You fancy a movie?" he said. |
