ROSE
So softly the petals of the rose fall Like stars vanishing into their own realms Quietly disappearing without a trace in the sky New buds emerge; hidden from the shadows of the world Shivering from their own internal coldness The thorns growing outward, sharp as blades Soon to be covered in darkened blood
So softly the petals of the rose fall As its eyes glow brighter against the velvet night Breathing in the scent thrown throughout the air Dizzying spells quickly transcending the mind The petals cling hopefully to the wet ground Damp from the early morning rain But now fading before the thoughts could be even spoken
