Starry Sky

Do you remember when we stood on the hilltop overlooking the city

When you took my hand and pointed out all the names of the stars in the sky

You said that there's a star for everyone and made me face the biggest one

We lay down on the hill and you said you once wished on that same star

You looked into my eyes and said that star was named after me...

Three years after I still cling onto that memory

When the rain falls onto my window and there's silence around me

I remember how you took my hand and told me about the stars that night

I saw the person inside, deeper than the surface; the one who rarely comes out

I'm never alone when I think back to that day for I can still see your eyes

Your face is engraved in my mind and it will never disappear

I walk to that hilltop sometimes at night alone

I pretend you're still there and repeat everything you said in my head

I look up at the sky and try to find the star that was named after me

As I sit there quietly searching, I hear a sound behind me

I feel another hand grasping mine and I know it's you

You sit beside me not saying a word

Then you look at me and gaze up in a distinct part of the sky

I look up and see my star...the one in your eyes
