God- From a Child's Perspective

"Holy Mary, mother of god"
My life just fell apart.
"The father, the son, the holy spirit"
Listen to my aching heart.

"Messiah, Jesu, the lamb of god",
My mom's a crack-addict stripper.
"The king of kings, the holy one",
"The state" just took my sisters.

Dear Jesus, God and whoever else
Please listen to my plight
Because of the frightful cold in here
I lay awake at night.

The Creator, I'm really quite hungry
I'm not an Isrealite to love...
But perhaps you could do the same favor
And send me some manna from above?

They threw me from your holy place
Because my shoes didn't match my skirt
They didn't want to see my face
Because it was covered in dirt.

The people there said that I stole
From your sacred offering plate
But Hosanna, please, you've got to believe me
I wouldn't do that, I'm not even eight.

My daddy left us and went far away
But my grandma says you see it all
Could you find him for me please?
He looks just like me but tall.

Grandma went away now too.
And there's nobody here but me
And my little sister to take care of
But I'm not sure how that could be.

When you ask me why I have no hope
I look back to times like these
When I was treated the way I was
How can you expect me to believe?

"Jesus Christ is the son of god.
In his holy blood we anoint"
"Trust in me, have life ever after"
You hated me, what was the point?
