Too Busy To Care

Mom sits at the computer all day long
Dad never comes home to see any wrong
How can she see that the things that she does
Could be so bad, she has no one to love

Her parents ignore her; don't know how to care
They hardly realize she's even there
So she does things she knows she shouldn't do
She doesn't realize they'd care if they knew

It's not her fault, though she doesn't know
That by herself she has to grow
Because her parents are so obsessed
And her parents just couldn't care any less

They're just too busy to see their little girl
Grow up and become a lady in the eyes of the world
Forever they'll see her as a child
A little crazy and a little wild

They've missed the important things in her life
Like proms, parties, sadness, and strife
They missed the boys, friendships and tears
All the memories they would have held dear

And all this because they had to work
They'd never see their daughter laugh, not even smirk
They'd never see the tears and wipe them away
They'd forever remain, always to stay
