Dark black circles Around her eyes, With bluish bruises on her arms Yet know one knew The tears never came For everyone to see But that doesn’t mean That they weren’t there She wore a long black shirt To cover her arms But a short black skirt as To make up for lost skin Her eyes were painted black With eyeliner so thick It was painful to look at And her skin was just white Her blue eyes Seemed to sparkle for all to see It looked like she knew something But she would never tell The secrets just lingered But no one would know And yet she was beautiful Everyone would turn And everyone would stare They didn’t understand her They didn’t even try But then one day Someone looked not through her But actually into her eyes And they knew She was speaking it Crying it And saying it all aloud the entire time Just in wayes that no one knew Or wanted to read And so they did And finally Finally she was able To be free Free from the person That she would bound into be Safe And loved
