In this life of mine, I've faced many things I've faced this world, and all that it brings;
I've held in my hand the tiniest stone Gave it a name, and called it my own.
I've noticed things that have long gone unsaid And many dark nights I have cried in my bed.
I have seen laughter as I have seen pain, And felt both of these in the cold pouring rain.
I have said a sad good-bye to a long-burning flame Knowing it would better that way...not the same.
I have felt afraid of both darkness and light, I have done so many things that I could never get right.
I have seen death; it has stood at the back door, But I also met life, and it wanted me more.
