Shattered Desires

After sunset my mind roams free,
Through the forest of writhing trees,
I embrace the night’s darkness,
Enchanted by it’s deadly kiss,
So as I slip through the night,
Eternally running from the light,
Memories arise from my broken past,
Images flashing insanely fast,
Vertigo making surroundings unreal,
Making my perception insanely surreal,
Until abruptly it ends and I’m left to dwell,
On my emotions that have stopped their swell,
My desires have been caged again,
Locked with my soul, its only kin,
Until I take this journey again,
Into the depths of my shattered head..
