small red lies

You look at my arm,
Then ask me what’s wrong?
‘Did your cat do that?’
I just play along.

Blank eyes look back,
Guarding emotions unknown,
You asked a question,
For which the answer you know,

You say its not good,
You say it’s not right,
You just list off reasons,
And I just stay quiet.

Then you walk away,
And I’m relieved,
Till the next day,
When it will just happen again.
