Mandy

2 + 2
and
5 x 5
equal four.

Grandmother’s perfect pig-tailed angel,
seeking salvation in dry-cleaned dresses...

Such a good little girl...

Slipping under satin sheets
while childhood-tainted innocence falls to the ground

Then shatters.

Never
disobey daddy
or a man with a crooked smile.

Rose-colored cheeks and open legs
head buried in a sea of pillows...

Naivety has a price.

It will take years...

Of pills, razor blades, and two cent therapy to fix attempt
to stitch this well-formed suicide.
