I know what it means
And I know how it feels
What I don't get
Is the pain
The hurt
The change
And the regrets

After thinking
That they wouldn't
Be the same
I don't get how someone
Can tell you
They love you
And just leave you
In the same breath
I don't understand
Why they think otherwise
After you had given up
Your innocense
Your first true tears
And your heart
All in a brief encounter
But then again
I don't get a lot
Of things I guess
Sometimes we all truly
Fall in love
And end up keeping
That love
But most of the time
We just end up
With a pair of new shoes
And a broken heart
We end up being another
Ex-girlfriend
And thats all we were
Actually destined to be
The whole entire time
If only we could
Know these things
Just a little sooner!
