| We've grouped these three personality disorders onto one forum, however if the need arises we can break them out. Please to not hesitate to share your thoughts and experiences with these disorders. | |

Ups, now I forgot to write anything in the post. Okay, here goes: I have at least two burning questions. I fit very well into the general picture of a skizotypal disordered personality - exept for one - I am not emotionaly cold. Nobody has ever accused me of being that. In fact, I perceive myself as more passionate and with a richer emotinal life than most other people. This is my first question - does this make me an oddball skizotypal? Another question: I have now read several places that skizotypals are caracterized by "odd" or "exentric" ideas. But how do you decide whether an idea is odd? By what criteria? |

| The question doesn't really seem to be what is odd, it's who is actually considered normal? These days, there are so many people out there with labels placed on them and they are looked down upon just because of what they are. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be one of these people, so I would say odd is what you want it to be, not because some shrink tells you it's odd. Who really cares what people think...I'm one to talk...but truthfully, I don't care any more if people look at me strange because of the wierd things I say, or how I act. The same goes for you, if people say you are odd by the things you talk about or the things you do, it's their loss due to their ignorance about other people in the world. Please be happy with yourself, regardless of any label that a doctor or this website tells you. You are very special and God gave this to you for a reason. One day it will become clear as to what this reason is. | |

I like thinking of things that don't exist. Why is that wrong. I think everyone does it. Name me one person that has never thought about winning the jackpot lottery. My things are a little different. Like one thing I like to think about that doesn't exist is. The world's largest supplier of environmentally friendly crude oil shipping barrels. Now that's funny!!! |

| What I hate about paranoia is working with people. I am fine at home or with friends, but at work I consume myself with what I think they are saying about me. I know that I am not that important, but we all do get talked about. Paranoia sucks. | |

normal is simply a concept of what is socially acceptable at the given time and culture. nothing more. furthermore, i am not paranoied. making the choice to be suspiciously alert can save you a lot of problems. when your expectations of people are lower, then when they underperform or let you down you are that much less upset. am i wrong? |

I just want to say, I took the personality disorder test and got high results for Schizotypal disorder and moderate results for Schizoid, Avoidant Dependent and Obsessive-Compulsive disorders so I was wandering should I go to my doctor to make a professional diagsosis. :? |

| I got a high result for avoidance and moderate results for Schizoid and Schizotypal. I'm just wondering if there are a lot of people who have these personalities because where I am no one thinks like me. and... i like to understand how people think about things and why they act like they do. and...do others think like that? | |

I got very high on paranoia and very high on schizoid and schizotypal... I'm seeing two psychiatrist at the moment (have had a long history of psychologists and psychiatrist) but, i'm not quite shure what the problem is. People in school have often given me comments about strange behavior, stuff i don't even remember doing. But it's not like it's freaking me out or something, as long as it's not hurting me or anyone around me..what's the problem then? |

| I think I agree with Michelle. What is actually wrong with being schizotypal? I can't see how itcould hurt anyone seeing things differently... could it? Sorry if this is a really stupid question and I've offended people- I'm just honestly curious. | |
