Family trait as in Genetic or learned behavior? Don't let it concern you too much just because of a test, If you were, or are being raised by someone with a disorder, or mental illness, especially untreated, you might have some unhealthy learned behavior, it can be confused with a disorder itself or mental illness.

my dad is much like me.
needs a lot of private time.
when he and my mom where together he was always alone in the shed. and
I fantasiesd about being alone in a small house by the sea.
but now that he is single, he has girlfriends on and off... that doesn't fit a schizoid profile. but the rest kinda does. both my parents never showed outward emotions, though my mom could get real angry and frustrated. My dad and I where always very calm, and if some emotional respons is demanded from one of us... We can only replay much later, like a day or two. and i've never seen him emotional. He drinks a lot, but even when he's drunk, he doesn't really become emotional.

My whole family is sane, I had a good childhood I think. But still I'm pretty much fubar. Not sure if I'm schizoid or a psychopath. They are too similar to choose just one. :P

dude what are you talking about, psychopaths have high social skills and tend to manipulate people while schizoids have no social skills and tend to isolate themselves. see a little difference here? i have no idea how you came to that conclusion.

Psychopaths tend to isolate themselves too, by putting up an façade of someone who is charming and outgoing. But they don't let people see what is behind the mask. And all schizoids aren't isolating themselves to the same extent. The manipulating thing is a side effect of not caring about the other persons feelings and taking advantage of it.
But yes there are differences between schizoids and psychos. I think the main difference is that schizoids want an independent lifestyle while psychopaths is more parasitic.

i think this is wishful thinking. psychos are just like that, there's a biological component. schizo is like the other personality disorders, learned. (could be wrong, but I think).. I mean either you have a conscience or you don't; people with the other PDs might transiently lack empathy but they're not incapable of feeling it. Sorry to rain on your parade.

I'm a schizoid psychpath. Schizoid's don't lack social skills, they just don't care about others enough to form relationships, they don't feel the need. On the other hand, antisocials will form relationships if they see a personal gain, be it sex or money or power. I have very finely tuned social skills, but I only use them for self-gratification.

In regards to being born psycho, I can confirm that in my case at least. I tortured animals at a very young age. Though I think my full blown APD was cultured by dear humanity.
