please, am i paranoid?

	I am 16 years old and have always thought i was somewhat paranoid.. and last night after scaring myself to death thinking that every noise in the house was a break in of a murderer and that every sound in the house resembled (to my mind) noises of my family being professionally quietly murdered. It was terrible and i got hardly any sleep. so I want to get to the bottom of this and know if this is paranoia i'm dealing with. Here are some more situations where people have called me "paranoid": When i am out on the street i suspect everyone that i walk past is going to stab me, or harm me. (which i soon find is untrue as i walk past them) The second someone is behind me i believe they are or will stalk me. If my parents are cooking in the kitchen and chopping up food with an either large or sharp knife, if i am in the room i begain to believe that they are going to carry out some vicious knife attack on me. I Also believe to hear my name being said a lot, by people i know and those i don't. And my name isn't exactly common so i shouldn't mistake it for someone calling someone else. And lastly I tend to suspect my friends and all people i know of a lot of things. It's hard to narrow it down to a general accusation beacuse i tend to believe a lot of things. I know this is a long post but i want to make sure people have enough information to supply me with a good answer. Please help me io need to know if this is paranoia or something else as a lot of these "fears" seems to be viiolent or murder related.

	I think you should tell your parents you think you need to see a psychologist/psychiatrist. I wish I had seen one earlier in life.
