i have depression but i am becoming worse with it and now i feel myself going towards madness i have just done the personality test and had a high rate for schizophrenia..shall i go to the doctors?

Yes but i dont think you mean schizophrenia, the test doesnt say anything about it, probably schizoid or schizotypal

Does anyone know how schizoid got its name? Why does it sound so similar to schizophrenia if they arent related?

Schizoid only share a few traits and otherwise has nothing to do with it, but schizotypal apparently is a mild schizophrenia.
Or something.

And afaik name-wise, all the psychologists just put letters together until they get a pseudoword they like lol.

I know someone with Schizophrenia, and he sure as hell isn't Schizoid.
But Schizotypal, i remember reading it somewhere, so i did look it up just to confirm xD

What i've seen is Schizoid people just live their lives normally, without the hassles of other's interferance, whilst Schizotypal people are more down to the fact they perceive things a lot differently, and somewhat weirder, than others.
