The difference between asperger / autism and schizoid is that autistics are diagnosed young and schizoids aren't diagnosed at all.

sarah don't listen to hip, he's on a schizoid rampage haha!

asperger's is a form of autism. they have difficulty with social skills, schizoids don't find it hard, they just don't like it(not that'd i'd blame them, people are a--holes)
they can spend tons of time on one little thing. great concentration, good with patterns, very repetitive in nature. speech also tends to be abnormal.
tons of differences really.

if i had to live either one i'd probably be pushed to homicide, but that's beside the point.

i think now that we are aware of our condition, its strength and it weaknesses we must desire, to mould for ourself a balanced perfect personality which will aid our success in society and i think that will start with taming our suprimly inflated ego and to start socialising for the sake of it.

What exactly does "abnormal speech" entail? Does the "time cube" guy present an example of this?

Well here's the thing as far as i know, i am not sure if asperger's sindrome is some kind of autism but the thing is that its main characteristic is apathy, wich means they are totally unable to process other people's emotions wich leads them to have problems with social relationships. But here's the other thing, those are not problems at all, not for them at least, they tend to focus on themselves and their own stuff and dont seem to need or mind other people.
A good aspie example would be Dr. Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory (tv show, worth watching BTW)

The schizoids on the other hand are not apathetic at all, they can see, think and feel as anybody else(except aspies of course), they just dont give a crap about most people.Sometimes themselves included

Their main characteristics would be:
They dont seem to or just dont need or enjoy any kind of interpersonal relationship(cuz they dont give a damn)*
They practice solitary activities*
They are quite confortable doing not much or nothing at all*
They have very few or no close friends*
They wont care if they are being flattered or critizised (again, they dont seem to give a damn)
They are cold most of the time*
They dedicate a lot of their time to their own toughts*
They have a lot of abstract ideas
Some suffer from insomnia
Sometimes they show or hide a psichotic behavior.
Im personally a lazy person so theres no way im going to list them all but if you still want to know the rest of it just google esquizoide, go to the wiki page and see if you can translate the whole list "Perfil fenomenológico de Akhtar"(spanish)

And that's pretty much it

BTW: See from my point of view i got very high on schizoid, moderate on Schizotypal, Antisocial and Obsessive-Compulsive and low on everything else (so im a sane person walking on the edge of insanity by psychotic atack because any of the moderates XD)

People with aspergers/autism are often intellectually disabled, sometimes profoundly. Savants are incredibly, incredibly rare.
