Ive worked security before, it sucks. No you cant play on your laptop while on the job because you have to be alert. If you are at home on the computer for 8 hours at least you can be attentive on your terms and you are doing something besides pacing around or sitting at one spot staring at the same scene the whole. f---ing. time.

Do what you want, but to me security sucks ass.

At my route there's a lot of running in stairs, but I did work at a stationary position in Arlanda airport for about half a year. And I only guarded a gate for airport workers, and there were only like 5 people passing trough every night(12 hour shifts). Everyone there has a laptop and play games on them, it is allowed to do so. One night I managed to watch 7 movies. That's the record. :P

I would do the same as you. I want to be around people and want to build relationships, but find that I am unable to. So I'd do the same as you.

I envy you Obs. Try working security at a psyche ward. After working there for a week or two, you will END up in one.

anyone's able to build relationships if they want to. especially if you don't have to spend 99% of your IQ on faking emotional responses, it should be easy, i suppose.

Hip, you are right on point, about schizoids requiring lots of personal space. I should know.

Didnt see this post:

"Hip, that's true. But needing personal space and having a debilitating, maladaptive disorder resulting from severe abuse or trauma during childhood are very different. And I don't see how one can be borderline and schizoid, they have contradictory symptoms like fear of abandonment. Having one or two traits doesn't mean you're abnormal. Always get a second or third opinion."

Everyone needs personal space, the fact that schizoids need an excessive amount to the point where they cant be themselves and are always in solitude is whats recognized as a result of a chemical imbalance.

I was just saying that they avoid people for this specific reason, nothing to do with anxiety or whatever. Plenty are married and can have functional relationships if they get half the day to themselves unlike most people.

Borderline and schizoid traits? Not possible.
