| Why would you be unhappy about being a narcissist? It's not like the revelation that there's a word for your personality suddenly changes who you are. | |

not that you should be unhappy about it, narcissists are pathologically happy about everything about themselves, so to get a diagnosis and be happy about (as opposed to neither) is ironic. |

"but i am good fun and of course great to be with lol." Wake up. No one could tolerate that s--- for more than an hour...except perhaps those who've just suffered a head injury. |

| oh I dont know, being happy with yourself even in dire times is good and can save a persons life. As for head injuries as long as they are not self inflicted in which case you need a different thread... | |

I just recently discovered that I might also have the condition due to an evaluation I had done on myself. For years I began to notice a weird problem in my family and a friend suggested NPD. I decided to look into it and every symptom pertained to someone in my family, including myself. My boyfriend has always pointed things out to me about my personality or something that I did that was abnormal. I wondered if that was the problem and everything pointed to the disorder. Lately, keeping good relationships with the other members of my family has been extremely difficult. I seriously believe that NPD is the cause of our disputes. Everyone wants the other to consider their own feelings and the stress leaves me stuck between a rock and a hard place. I wish that we could all come to terms, but nobody is willing to take the time to actually try. I'm very confused about all of it. Please write back and let me know if you have any suggestions or advice. Melissa. |

I....I...My english is poor... I just wanna to say...whether the disorder test is looking things too serious~~? I think a person with a little so called Narcissitic prone,is a cute~~happyness~~and most of them are very friendly person and easy to be with, beacuse they usually are funny one~~ The TEST also said me had a highly Narcisstic....but I dont think it's must be a "disorder".... I like myself, and like all the people surround me if he or she deserve, maybe i'm Narcisstic, but I respect all the other people at the same time, and I think I can accept other people's unique personalities rather than other guys,so I think myself and some of the other so called Narcisstics maybe are the people with a more healthy personalities~~ |

I really think everyone looks into this too much. Suppose you really believe you have this disorder, why don't you have a professional evaluate you? If I had this concern, I certainly wouldn't be asking people on here. |

Only a true narcissist would be pleased to be one. All other disorders see their characteristics and most do not want to change, but the Narcissist does not see the problem and truly thinks the only problem is that others do not see their genuine uniqueness. "Am a Narcissitic and i am happy with it. Am different from others narcissitic i think it has to be redefined" Narcissism is characterized by terminal uniqueness. And even then, only if Narcissism was the dominant of an amalgamation of disordered characteristics. |
