Many psychiatrists have admitted that a simple song can do more than years of therapy in changing mood/making people commit suicide. Simply, listen to confident and uplifting music. The most obnoxious rap you can find. Force yourself to listen to it. Delete your Coldplay collection. All those Within Temptation songs, every downbeat piece of music. Get rid of it all. |

I don't think Coldplay are emo o.0 I don't listen to them but my parents like adore them so i was brought up on that indie genre. But i do like a bit of progressive trance to zone out to, from time to time :) |

I hate Coldplay .. o.O Yeah I noticed that I tend to listen to depressed music when I'm depressed and happy music when I'm happy, angry music when I'm mad, etc ... just "feel" like it. This is one of the reasons I listen to MCR, because they're one of the few bands I like that sound happy without having really lame and happy lyrics |

| Obnoxious rap... Hope you don't mean Horrorcore lol. Lots of that is about serial murder, rape, etc... But hey, I like it. | |

| I mean that sort of "I'm awesome" music. I'm not joking about rap. Force yourself to listen to some gangsta rap tunes about money and b----es and having a crew. Force your mind to take in confidence. | |

| Notable albums are The Chronic by Dr Dre, anything by Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, DMX. You need to absorb that attitude. I'm not saying you need to stop wearing chains and oversized hoodies and talking black. But rap music is the epitomy of self-acceptance and super confidence. If you listen to slow, meaningful music you're just making things worse really. | |

Yeah it's hard to listen to uplifting music when you're not in an uplifting mood. The closest thing to rap I've listened to is Linkin Park o.O does that count? |
