I was diagnosed with this disorder in the early 80's,but was steeped in addicton. I am 50 now and am in recovery almost 3 years now. Becsuse of this disorder and addiction I have very little documented work history. I have an above IQ, speak 2 languages, and have many skills but am expert at none. I have been out of work 7 months now and have trouble even getting up to look for a job because of fear of scruitiny. I am in Texas. Does anyone know of some kind of free treatment? |

| Chrisppy, This is as free as it gets. Well done for being 3 years in recovery - Wow!! I just read about a meditation method through Buddism where they talk in groups and it's said to be effective. You're obviously a clever person and could probably do anything you want to.How about setting your alarm clock a little earlier each day over a two-week period say until you find you can get up at a reasonble time for a job. Then go for ANY job that you fancy the sound of. It doesn't matter what you choose (even part-time) because the object is to GET that all-important first job. As you're confidence grows in it, you can start to think about moving to another job more suitable. Be a friendly 'nice' positive person and any 'scrutiny' will be overshadowed when they realise what a brilliant person and worker you'll be. GO FOR IT....Good Luck!!! | |
