| i have stopped cutting for the time being... but when i was it was because of feeling empty.. worthless.. and extreme feelings of sadness or anger.. all caused by other problems.. like stress.. family.. friends.. and stuff like that.. so probably mostly same reasons as anyone else here.. | |

| several reasons here too. one would be an element of control over something in my life, I know when I do it I do it myself and nobody else does it to me and I control how long the cut is, where it is, how deep it is. Another reason is for a release, so much pressure builds up in my head and body, it is the only release. One other reason is when i feel empty inside and sad or depressed it reminds me that there is something there, I really am alive and there is something inside me. | |

hmm ^^ stress release : you guys ever tried a punchbag? works wonders for me ^^ control : if u re up to dealing with the consequences of ur actions, u can be in control of whatever u wish to be in control of. family/friends i couldn't help u with,i have no family and i m not one to rlly consider anyone friends xp the emptiness and alive stuff is probably a result of beingthe underdog, closest guess i can make. So taking the lead & having some pride would probably get u over it ^^ just the opinion of a non-cutting bystander |

| people who feel dead in side often suffer from dissocaitive self mutilation. When i recently found out that my friend was dying i was in the hospital at the time and was told at 8am and that the last thing i remember before 12. i was sitting there in group and just thought "wait how did i get here?" so i dissociated/repressed 4 hours of that day | |

^^ i sometimes find myself wondering how it feels to lose a friend/loved one. But i don't have anyone that would really qualify as either. there's 1 guy i would hate to die, but really, thats because life would be so much more boring without our occasional... interactions(don't ask). still, all i would really feel was that i just lost a nice way of spending the time.. similar to when u finished a real good game and its totally boring cause u wanted to keep playing it some more :( |

| I cut because im lonely. i feel as if im the onli one who has desperation (even tho i know im not) i mean something i noticed about myself is when i get a hug from anybody i dont want to let go. i have this despeate feeling to cling to tat personand nvr let go... i bet no one else feels like that... god im glad no one here knows me in real life... | |
