hopscotch: it all depends on what I feel like, for me .. when I'm just sad and depressed, I make millions of shallow-ish cuts, it's weird because the shallow cuts sting more. its a nice feeling like icey fire letting stress out, quite invigorating .. when I'm mad though i just slash at myself ._. those make deep cuts , you can see the pink-grayish flesh kind of weird.. anyway yea what I wanted to say is you can do whatever you want to :O whatever works for you.

I cut myself over and over on my stomach.

3 times.

... thus breaking a very important promise to the most important person in my life.

She will never love me the same.

It was the biggest mistake of my life..

2 years ago, I started cutting with one of those hooked dental tools... I did the typical wrist cuts and my mom saw them. I swore I'd never do it again and threw away the hook thing. Since then I've used scissors, nail clippers, and lately a kitchen knife. I try to do it where no one will see, like on my feet, thighs, and the back of my ankle. They're about an inch long and idk how deep they are, it varies. Some are just scratches and others are all the way through the skin. I also do things like eraser burn and spiky 'bracelets' inside a loose sleeve.

I used to use a piece of glass, but now I use the blade out of a disposable razor. Sometimes I cut just randomly, but I've also carved particular things, the main ones being I love CH (My bf's initials) and KILL ME (after a particularly bad night)
I used to cut my wrist, tried my upper arm once, but finally settled on my upper thigh, either side.

Smart, give him ideas so he can continue doing what he's doing now that he knows it's effective.

It's not giving him ideas.. if he wanted to do it he'd find a way. But if there is a way to feel better with less damage, why not?

I was talking to dewsiee who confirmed that anonymous's comment contributes to borderline people's distress.

I produce wounds with either a needle-like tool or a dull pocket knife. if I have to improvise, I am willing to use raw force to cut, for example with the edge of a small "no smoking" sign found in hotels.

the spot I cut on was random when I first did it, and forms a short sentence in runes. I have just kept cutting there when I feel the need to do so, because I like to wear t-shirts when I walk around at night(when I sleep in a bed I haven't used before, I can't manage to sleep). I don't want lots of questions about why my body is covered in runes, so I'd much rather reduce it to one place.

I don't produce the wounds because I want to forget something(not mainly, at least), but because the runes hail one of the gods I believe in.

The cuts I make on my arm are about two and a half to four inches long. I’m not sure how deep they are, it depends on how I am feeling when I make them. When I first started cutting, (I was 13) I used scissors. I would cut on the inside of my arm, just below where my elbow bends. I then progressed to my exacto knife. Now, I use the exacto knife and a razor. I shouldn’t cut myself on my arm anymore, even though it’s my favorite spot to cut, because I am now in a swim class, and I don’t want to answer awkward questions with lies and just have people talk about me. I’ve been cutting myself on my boob for about 3 months now, and it works. Yesterday, I broke down and cut myself on my arm. I don’t know what I’m going to say tomorrow in swim when people ask how I got that cut on my arm. And I did it in a weird place to, never done it there before. On the inside of my upper arm. Like, if you put your arm up and touch the opposite ear, the part that you see in the mirror is where I did it. And its long, about five and a half inches. I also did a couple on my forearm. But yeah, I’m screwed tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas for what I can say when people ask?

Maybe you fell? But idk if i know exactly where on your arm you mean, if only you could have seen me touching my opposite ear and looking at my reflection in the TV xD

Haha. Yeah, sounds funny. Problem is, it actually looks like a cut, not like a scrape.
Oh, and by the way, I just broke my exacto knife. Like, the blade broke. But the good news is, I found a new object! I was trying to pry my razorblade head open, and it broke, but I got the razor to open. It’s really cool actually, its all bendy and it cuts really well. Like, I don’t know if you’ve ever cut with a razor attached to the little head thing, but it was just like that except with more control and it hurt more. It was pretty snazzie.

Vira Kiranov, we highly suggest you not cut yourself on your feet because everyone's feet sweat and get dirty (yours being no different), which means they are very likely to get infected, and that's just a pain in the ass.

As for Egh, we would suggest you not be on a swimming team if you actively cut yourself. Your blood will get into the pool and we assume others would get angry at you for making them swim in your blood. Also, the others are probably dirty when they get into the pool, and if your wounds haven't completely healed, or if they break open, you could easily get some nasty illness or infection. As for your "excuse," you could simply tell them you cut yourself and it's nothing they should worry themselves over. (Unless, that is, you want others to worry about you.)

Anyway, I've been cutting us for about a year or two now, with forced breaks for certain periods of time due to various, annoying events. We mainly cut on the top parts of my forearms, on my shoulders/biceps, on my chest/stomach, and on my legs. I've tried cutting the inside of my mouth once, but I ended up in the hospital, and, needless to say, that wasn't the "release" We were looking for. . . . We mainly use knives (kitchen knives, pairing knives, and our newest $25 butterfly knife) and razors (from both box cutters and from shaving instruments). I might have used an exacto knife if it weren't for the time when I was in sixth grade and I showed my friend the one I stole out of tech. class with an unused blade. (I ended up having to hide it real quickly when the bus driver walked to the back of the bus for some unknown reason. I panicked and wound up cutting the index and middle fingers of my left hand pretty badly, and I still had to wait ten or fifteen minutes until my stop arrived.) (We have many other stories, but they're for another time.)

Anyway, the cuts I make vary with the sharpness of whatever it is I'm using. Dull blades, as I've personally found out, are an absolute "HELL NO". (One of those stories We mentioned.) (As an aside: don't use dull instruments . . . it's not worth it.) The cuts are anywhere from one inch short to fourteen inches long (We made an asterisk on my chest/stomach). WIe have fairly thin skin, but it's rather tough, so pressure and all that vary depending on where the cut will be. There is a lot more to say, but I think we've talked enough, for now.

P.S. - I don't think that 'anonymous' guy has been reading this thread ever since he posted what he did, meaning leaving little comments about him is utterly pointless. (Unless Hip is Anonymous, which we think may very well be.)
