| Ive cut with a exacto knife too, and ive also done it with razors and a knife. i also used to heat up metal with a lighter and just burn my arm. I try not to cut anymore. | |

i use a simple box cutter, its funny, i never tried using anything else.. people used to ask questions since my cuts are on my arms, so now i usually wear long sleeves shirts, even when the weather is heat wave and it makes people keep asking questions, ha. my scars are about 2.5-3 centimeters, 2mm deep. they're tiny, most of the time i find them pretty.. |

bunny: I have similar problems, lol. Even when I'm wearing shorts in hot weather I always wear long sleeves to cover them up .. People do occasionally ask me why, I just tell them I've got bad sun allergy or my skin is sensitive and gets sunburns. I think my scars are pretty too, they're like, poetic, speaking their own language. It sounds weird but I try to cut so the cuts make an aesthetic whole. ?? |

too bad i'm tanned, i never know what to answer.. it doesn't sound weird to me, i see your point. i, myself, a person that adores aesthetic perfection. yesterday i was in a realy bad mood and i haven't noticed the way i cut myself, now i have ugly scars, not symmetrical or equal.. still, it might sound creepy, but today i actually found them nice, all swollen, they look like bleeding opened petals.. |

| i use soda cans. i do t know anyone else who does but its easy. the pain isnt too bad. and i cut on my thigh. the skin on my thigh is pretty thick, and i dont cut deep. plus, its rare for people to see my thighs. i just cut a piece of a soda can out and use the corner. | |

loumc69: First of all I have to say I don't like your boyfriend, I understand if he doesnt like people to cut themselves but to try to force you to stop by threatening to break up with you? clearly he's shallow and doesnt understand what you're going through.. but that's just my opinion, if you really need to cut AND keep your bf, you should cut in hidden places, someone here cuts on the inside of their mouth, or if you don't have smex with him, maybe your thighs or lower belly or other places like that ... -.- or maybe your boyfriend isn't as shallow as it seems, talk to him and try to make him understand why you need it and how it's unreasonable of him to just want you to stop without offering alternatives. |

Bambi: I dont know, for me it never hurts, just a pleasant, clear feeling... iguess some pplwould call that pain. Sorry the space barh ere is messed up... dont do it if you dont likethe pain... Hip: personally i dont do it in my mouth, someone here did so I tried it but i cant see the blood -.- and iloveseeing the blood |

i cut on my thighs.. i wear jeans a lot so noone sees. the first time i cut i carved 'why' into my leg. i dont usually go deep but it depends on how i feel.. i can usually go a week or two without cutting, but the stress just builds up more and i end up going deeper.. do you think its better to cut more regulary and shallow, or deeper every few weeks? |
