| Hi. I recieved "Very High" in avoidant on this quiz, although I didn't really need to take it to know I have issues in that area. I am in my second year of uni and have yet to make any friends. My few friends from high school (that I made before I started experiencing full-blown social anxiety)are slowly dwindling away. So now all I have are my boyfriend, one friend and my family. I feel really alone, and its not like I feel like I have to have a lot of friends, I would just love to have one or two people that I can share my life with. But whenever I think about approaching someone in class all I can think of is "they are going to think im weird...I've ignored them for two years and now i wanna make friends?" I just really need someone I can talk to and someone that can relate to how I'm feeling. If anyones interested reply to this thread | |

Well, you got one more year on me for university. Well, technically one and half because I'm going to drop out of uni hopefully just after mid terms. Don't get me wrong, there isn't anything wrong with this place, or my roommates, or the teachers. I guess I just wasn't ready. The extra year at high school wasn't enough I guess. I just don't know why I'm here. So anyway, why don't you join a couple of clubs at uni. It's only october, so I'm pretty sure it's not to late to join. You'd have at least one thing in common with them. And oh yeah, you said you have a boyfriend. But you also said "you would love to have one or two people you can share your life with"? |

| I would suggest that you try to find a local support group. Don't lead yourself into a dependent relationship with a stranger online. While I think that these forums are a great idea, you should familiarize yourself with another forum user before giving them personal information. That may seem paranoid, but better safe than sorry. :) | |

| ppl with this disorder have different levels of it i think. if untreated it gets even worser after awhile you just accept it like fate like evryday life its funny how things can consume us and it seems like nothing else exists outside this because it consumes your whole world then eventually it is your whole world | |
