| This is supposed to be a forum where people can explore how they are feeling in an effort to support each other. It may seem silly, but in social phobia and avoidant personality disorder social relationships are very difficult and distressing. Even this little bit of communication can provide a lot of support for people who realyl need it, because lack of social support can lead to depression. It's important was are all supportive here, and not make insensitive marks like "come cut with me", because these are serious issues that need to be taken seriously by everyone, not just those with the disorder. | |

shyness has affected my life totaly--i never married because i cant face meeting inlaws.im even shy within my own family unit.heard my sister tell a brother inlaw im the blacksheep of the family.me being the oldest of a large family makes it even worse. im ok one to one.ive met women off internet dating site not for sex but for companionship.having dinner/cinema with someone is something no amount of money can buy. i know i will always be single. funny thing is im a taxi driver and meet people all the time. when i turned 30 never married.most of family thought i was gay--maybe still do--im 47 now shyness is ok--i like shy girls but i know how shyness can totaly control your life. all the best david |
