Hi Everyone, I really hope you don't mind this post but I need help regarding my sister-in-law. I'm 99% positive that she has this disorder, however how do you approach it?...How would you feel if someone knew you had it and shared their feelings? I know it is crippling her life, I need help...can anyone help me? |

The best thing to do is to try to be there for her consistently without trying to be too intimate. To help her build up relationships with others try to allow other people to get to know her gradually over time as they will like her more than on first impressions and she will feel more comfortable with people that way. She will feel comfortable with others only if certain of being liked and accepted. Try to find out more about the disorder by identifying reliable sources of information about it online. Your ultimate aim should be to share this knowledge with her but it will be difficult for her to confide in anyone about her problems. |
