Traveling With a Baby (Florida - Disney World, Maybe?)

Traveling with a baby is something I've been giving much thought lately. Before our bundle of joy came along my wife and I loved to travel. Our motivation was mostly to escape, to get away and recharge. We knew, though, back when we were only considering trying for our first child, that our traveling days would be over for some time. You can't really travel with a baby.

Or can you?

One vacation locale my wife and I have always enjoyed is Florida. Namely, Central Florida--Orlando, tourist mecca, land of Mickey Mouse. I happened to read an article in a local paper about another first time dad who planned to take his one year old son to Disney World for the first time this summer.

He had debated it. Would his son remember any of the trip at such a young age. Probably not. But what mattered was not so much the memories but the fun had in the moment. Would it be difficult? Certainly. A day spent at the Magic Kingdom is a lot to ask of a baby. He'd probably need to take his theme park in small doses.

But maybe it could work? I'm debating this now. My baby boy is only two months, and I'm not crazy--I wouldn't take him to Florida or any vacation spot right now. But maybe for his first birthday...

Oh if only this blog got more visitors, I could garner some advice in the comments from people who have traveled with their babies. Even just a list of common pitfalls would be nice. Or some idea of what to expect, this being my first potential trip with the little guy. I will have to think more about this and maybe do some research.
